RapidWeaver
RapidWeaver is an Apple Mac website builder. It offers a powerful and flexible approach to building websites, with a continuously growing plugin source through its Stacks feature.
We have chosen RapidWeaver primarily because of the availability of these powerful and ready-built Stacks.
Stacks are available for most website applications, allowing us to build anything from attractive but straightforward websites to eCommerce platforms integrated with multiple payment gateways. And, of course, everything in between.
As the name suggests, RapidWeaver helps build websites quickly, and this helps us reduce the time that we spend on background formatting that doesn't immediately show on the website. The resultant websites are also straightforward to deploy. Most RapidWeaver websites do not rely on a database, so we can easily upload the website to your hosting platform without requiring access to the resident Database engine. This approach ultimately gives you choice and makes managing your website more straightforward in the future.
RapidWeaver produces responsive websites suitable for all modern screen layouts, desktop, tablet and smartphones. When developing your site, RapidWeaver gives us the controls to alter each site element to suit each display screen genre independently. This feature is powerful and results in websites better formatted for both desktop and smaller screens.
Finally, RapidWeaver is SEO optimised and generates code that works well with search engines.
Adobe CC
Adobe Photoshop is a familiar name to anyone who's ever wanted to edit photographs. Adobe CC is the complete creative solution.
We use Adobe products for many applications, such as editing photographs and video ready for publishing on your web site.
Having access to this fantastic suite of software solutions saves you from paying for and learning how to use them. Of course, we can't perform miracles, but you'll be surprised at how much we can do to bring a photograph to life.
Grammarly
Nothing looks less professional than sloppy grammar and poor spelling. To help here, we have invested in Grammarly.
If you watch videos on YouTube, you'll have seen many four seconds adverts for Grammarly. Well, we might dismiss it from our YouTube sessions, but we take grammar very seriously when putting together your website.
Grammarly helps us identify and attend to grammatical err's and choose the right tone for our text. Of course, you can always guide us when you feel that Grammarly has got it wrong, but we believe you'll be pleased with the results.
When we run the text through the premium Grammarly checker, we receive a report including a readability score. If you're interested in this information, we'll be pleased to send it over.
Unsplash
Unsplash is the web's free image resource. Anyone can download and freely use Unsplash's images.
On their About webpage, they boast they host over 2 million high-resolution images. Unsplash has categorised the photos as well as provide an excellent search feature.
Unsplash is built right into RapidWeaver. Unsplash is such a fantastic tool and resource for free-to-use images that I felt worth mentioning.
DevonThink
DevonThink is one of those unexciting but excellent digital tools that you come across. Essentially it is a document database. Essentially, a piece of software that manages files of any kind. When I gather documents together for building a web site, I load them into Devon Think to manage them for me; I access the database whenever I need a file and Devon Think has magically sorted them for me.
